About the Team
The Business Analytics team functions as Tinder’s primary analytics hub, integrating insights from marketing, product, finance, and experimentation to deliver a unified understanding of overall business performance. The team’s goal is to transform fragmented data signals into coherent, actionable narratives that enable leadership to comprehend what is occurring within the business and why.
Core Team Functions
- Insights & Performance (Regional Analysts): Responsible for regional business insights and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Measurement & Experimentation (Data Scientists): Provide advanced analytics, causal evaluation, and guidance on experiments.
- Strategy & Operations: Manage reporting infrastructure, governance of metrics, and scalable analytic processes.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Regional Business Analyst to manage regional performance insights and act as a strategic partner to both regional and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional business performance and strategic initiatives by owning the entire funnel analysis from acquisition, engagement, retention to revenue.
- Identify risks and opportunities in the region proactively and use data-driven insights to inform business strategies.
- Ensure alignment among Marketing, Product, and Finance teams regarding key performance indicators.
- Conduct comprehensive investigations into major performance shifts, unclear trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Integrate data from marketing activities, product updates, experimental findings, and user behaviors to uncover root causes.
- Design analytical frameworks for complex or novel challenges.
- Create clear, impactful narratives for executive forums highlighting business impact, trade-offs, and recommended actions.
- Collaborate closely with regional marketing leaders, product teams, finance, and data scientists to influence priorities and decisions.
- Escalate sophisticated analytic questions and partner with Data Scientists on advanced analytics and experiments.
- Develop standardized approaches to funnel analysis, reporting, and investigative methods.
- Mentor junior analysts and help raise the analytical standards across the team.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements in reporting and analysis processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in quantitative disciplines such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of four years of professional experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis.
- Expert proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets.
- Experience with data visualization and BI platforms like Tableau, Mode, or Databricks.
- Strong understanding of funnel and cohort analyses along with behavioral analytics.
- Ability to synthesize metric relationships and construct data-driven stories.
- Exceptional business acumen to link analytics with strategic business outcomes.
- Experience in influencing stakeholders and decision-making through analytic insights.
- Understanding of the interplay among marketing, product, and revenue functions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively present to senior management.
- Proven capability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Skill in leading cross-functional projects and exerting influence without direct authority.
- Strong collaboration abilities with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Data Science teams.
- Adaptability to operate efficiently in dynamic, ambiguous, and fast-paced environments.
