Role Overview
This position is for a seasoned full-cycle senior corporate recruiter who will partner closely with the founders and talent acquisition team to help build a high-performing organization for a Series A edtech startup. The role goes beyond standard recruiting and will have a direct influence on hiring strategy, leadership hiring, and company culture.
The successful candidate will help bring in functional leaders and critical team members as the business scales. The role requires more than 5 years of focused recruitment experience, along with strong command of the full hiring lifecycle, from sourcing and screening to interviewing and closing candidates.
This is an on-site position based in the New York City office in Gramercy, with a five-day workweek.

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end hiring, including job ad creation, sourcing, screening, interviews, reference checks, background verification, and offer preparation.
- Partner with the co-founders to identify, attract, and hire important leaders while shaping recruiting strategy.
- Support hiring across many new roles as the startup continues to scale.
- Represent the company as an attractive destination for top talent.
- Use creative and data-informed methods to identify and engage high-quality candidates.
- Contribute to new and ongoing recruiting initiatives using innovative outreach and hiring approaches.
- Prepare weekly hiring updates and share progress with the founding team and assigned managers.
- Work closely with management to ensure a strong candidate journey.
- Coordinate with HR and hiring managers to maintain recruiting process compliance and strong working relationships.
- Build sourcing reports, pipeline handoff data sheets, and quality assessments for candidate and hiring data.
- Help evaluate staffing needs and support recruitment planning.
- Manage all external job postings for assigned openings.
- Take on additional duties as required.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a scaling startup environment, ideally across functions such as Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Customer Support.
- Background hiring for new department heads, individual contributors, senior professionals, managers, and C-suite roles.
- Ability to work independently, think creatively, and solve problems proactively.
- Strong teamwork skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Solid experience sourcing passive talent and using data to improve outreach-to-conversion results.
- Hands-on experience with ATS tools, preferably Greenhouse.
- Comfort using Google Workspace, LinkedIn, and Slack.
- Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage deadlines.
- Clear and persuasive communication skills across writing, speaking, and presentations.
- Good analytical ability and experience working with data.
- Prior in-house startup recruiting experience is required.

Compensation
The role offers a base salary of $120,000 plus a bonus of $20,000 to $30,000. Final compensation depends on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and location. The exact mix of base pay and target incentive will be finalized at the offer stage, and the company may adjust the pay range at its discretion.
