Role Summary
The Raffles Butler sits at the heart of the resident experience at Raffles Hotel Singapore. The role spans every stage of the stay, including preparations before arrival, welcoming guests, supporting them throughout their visit, and managing departure arrangements. The butler is expected to notice details, listen closely, and tailor each interaction so residents feel understood and well cared for. As a hotel ambassador, the role requires broad knowledge of the property, including rooms, food and beverage, spa services, and other resident-facing areas.
Core Duties
- Build warm, personalised relationships with residents by delivering highly attentive and emotionally thoughtful service.
- Tailor check-in experiences, prepare suites, provide orientation, offer welcome drinks, and arrange itineraries, dining suggestions, and reservations based on observed preferences and needs.
- Support special celebrations, coordinate in-suite experiences, address feedback, handle daily amenities, and assist with departure arrangements to ensure a polished farewell.
- Carry out butler service tasks such as unpacking, packing, laundry, shoe care, in-room dining support, and prompt handling of resident calls and emails while coordinating with the relevant teams.
- Maintain service delivery in line with Accor Hotels values: Guest Passion, Trust, Sustainable Performance, Spirit of Conquest, Innovation, and Respect.
- Deliver upselling initiatives as directed by management and work with Lobby Operations to promote inter-hotel sales, restaurants, and facilities.
- Partner closely with in-suite dining and housekeeping teams to ensure smooth meal service and room upkeep, while acting as a connection point for residents across the hotel.
- Escalate security matters and resident complaints to the Head Butler and respond proactively where appropriate.
- Ensure guest experience aligns with brand SOPs, Raffles Singapore LSOPs, and Forbes 5-star / LQA standards, while working toward set performance goals.
- Follow WSH policies and procedures and support compliance among peers and direct reports.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a diploma or degree from a tourism or hotel management school and have at least 2 years of relevant experience. The role calls for excellent English communication skills; additional language ability or a basic understanding of other languages is an advantage. Strong interpersonal ability, a service mindset, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to stay composed under pressure are important. Candidates should be organised, able to prioritise and delegate effectively, self-driven, adaptable to change, and able to safeguard guest and hotel confidentiality. Good computer and property management system skills are required. A creative, experiential approach, strong local market knowledge, understanding of international luxury travellers, multicultural awareness, and any non-hotel international experience are beneficial.
