Role overview
This is a fully remote, long-term contract role for a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist in Canada. The position supports enterprise systems where reliability, stability, and strong release quality are essential. You will help strengthen QA practices across complex web applications, connected systems, and larger platforms by combining manual testing with automation and continuous delivery workflows.
This opportunity is intended for someone who is comfortable in a DevOps-oriented environment, enjoys improving test frameworks, and can partner closely with engineering and product teams to raise quality standards at scale.
Key responsibilities
- Build, update, and support automated test coverage for web applications, third-party platforms, and system integrations.
- Carry out manual, integration, and performance testing across several initiatives.
- Embed automated tests into CI/CD workflows to improve deployment confidence and release speed.
- Diagnose failures in test automation and strengthen the reliability of the testing framework.
- Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product stakeholders to improve QA practices and expand coverage.
Requirements
- 8 or more years of experience testing web applications, third-party applications, and integrations.
- At least 5 years of practical experience creating and maintaining automated tests.
- Hands-on knowledge of Cypress, Jenkins, and Postman.
- Experience using test management tools such as Allure TestOps.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development or testing tools, such as GitHub Copilot, is considered an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills with a focus on test stability and coverage improvements.
- Background in regulated, financial services, or other mission-critical environments is highly preferred.
- Must qualify for Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance, or have lived in Canada for at least 5 years.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in distributed, cross-functional teams.
