Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software QA Engineer (SDET) with 10 to 12 years of experience in manual and automated testing. Based in Chennai, this full-time role demands deep expertise in test strategy, automation frameworks, API testing, and microservices validation. The position involves leading testing initiatives, collaborating with multiple teams, and integrating automation within CI/CD pipelines to maintain high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans covering functional, regression, and integration aspects.
• Design and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks for web applications using tools like Selenium and Playwright.
• Automate API testing through platforms such as Rest Assured and Postman to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Conduct performance testing utilizing JMeter or Gatling to evaluate system robustness.
• Perform exploratory and usability testing for scenarios where automation is not feasible.
• Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring their prompt resolution.
• Integrate automated testing scripts seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps teams.
• Test the reliability, performance, and scalability of microservices and verify their service contracts and interdependencies.
• Collaborate closely with developers, QA peers, and product managers to sync testing strategies with project objectives.
• Prepare and disseminate detailed test reports and relevant metrics to stakeholders.

• Programming languages: Java (preferred), Python, JavaScript
• API testing tools: Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI
• Performance testing: JMeter, Gatling
• CI/CD platforms: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI
• Containerization and microservices: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Lambda
• Version control: Git, GitHub, Bitbucket
• Database testing: SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• At least 9 years of experience in software testing encompassing both manual and automation approaches.
• Proficient knowledge of API automation, specifically with Rest Assured.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience in microservices testing.
• Practical expertise with CI/CD pipeline integration and DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent analytical aptitude coupled with effective communication capabilities.
