The incumbent will manage the entire project execution phases, including engineering coordination, procurement, inspection, logistics, construction, commissioning, and final system handover, ensuring alignment with contractual, budgetary, scheduling, quality, and HSE standards while meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide mechanical and piping project delivery by defining strategic direction aligned with project aims, contracts, and company goals.
  • Oversee all project stages from mobilization through construction, commissioning, system completion, and close-out.
  • Formulate and apply project execution and resource deployment strategies, including schedules, KPIs, manpower planning, and performance monitoring systems.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams encompassing Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, Commercial, Procurement, Logistics, and Commissioning.
  • Manage installation of major mechanical systems such as static and rotating equipment, pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, piping, and associated facilities.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with IFC drawings, specifications, method statements, quality plans, international codes, and client standards.
  • Deploy systems to monitor construction productivity, manpower efficiency, equipment usage, material consumption, and resource deployment.
  • Track progress against baseline schedules and contract milestones, identify risks and constraints, and implement recovery or acceleration plans.
  • Collaborate with Planning and Project Controls teams using Primavera P6 for schedule and progress evaluations.
  • Secure availability of manpower, equipment, materials, permits, access, and facilities to maintain steady progress.
  • Partner with HSE leadership to implement and enforce safety policies, permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and safe work practices, fostering a zero-incident culture.
  • Monitor and control project cost performance alongside Commercial and Project Controls teams.
  • Support management of contract variations, claims, extensions of time, change orders, and commercial correspondence.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and cost optimization opportunities, ensuring proper evaluation and approval of project changes.
  • Promote value engineering, productivity enhancement, waste reduction, and resource optimization without compromising safety or quality.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, PMC, EPC partners, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and inspection agencies.
  • Lead high-level project meetings, reviews, coordination sessions, and client presentations.
  • Produce executive-level reports covering progress, costs, risks, forecasts, contractual matters, and recovery initiatives.
  • Authorize major project decisions including strategies, construction methods, resource allocations, and recovery plans within delegated authority.
  • Ensure thorough documentation, including turnover dossiers, as-built drawings, inspection and test records, quality documents, and handover files.
  • Oversee mechanical completion, system handover, commissioning interfaces, final testing, demobilization, project close-out, and lessons learned.
  • Represent the company at senior levels, safeguarding commercial, contractual, technical, and reputational interests while nurturing client and stakeholder relations.

Project Performance Objectives

  • Maintain a zero-harm safety record by enforcing robust safety leadership and full HSE compliance.
  • Achieve contractual milestones by proactive schedule and resource management.
  • Control costs effectively to operate within approved budgets, leveraging productivity improvements and resource optimization.
  • Ensure high-quality execution with timely resolution of non-conformances and quality issues.
  • Drive continuous enhancement in manpower productivity, equipment use, and construction output.
  • Ensure critical procurement items and resources are available to enable smooth project flow.
  • Successfully complete mechanical and system turnover and achieve handover milestones on schedule.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships effectively, including clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Protect commercial interests through careful management of variations, claims, and contractual risks.
  • Complete comprehensive project close-out with all necessary documentation and certificates.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 18 to 20+ years in mechanical construction and project management, preferably within LNG, Oil & Gas, Gas Processing, Petrochemical, Refinery, or EPC sectors.
  • Proven senior-level project leadership experience, including roles such as Senior Project Manager or Mechanical Project Manager.
  • In-depth expertise in mechanical and piping construction, equipment installation, plant systems, commissioning, and handover procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, EPC project management, cost controls, procurement, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide large multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project interfaces effectively.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 for scheduling, manpower planning, productivity tracking, and recovery planning.
  • Strong commercial acumen encompassing change management, claims, cost control, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience working with major EPC contractors, PMC firms, international clients, vendors, subcontractors, and inspection bodies.
