Senior Project Manager - Housing Delivery (Auckland/Christchurch)

About the Role

This senior leadership role is integral to Kāinga Ora's Housing Delivery System, focusing on the permanent integration of Apartments into Housing Delivery. The successful candidate will manage and lead medium and high-density housing projects across New Zealand, providing oversight, technical guidance, and delivery assurance to multiple projects and partners. The position covers all phases from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring safe, effective, and financially sound project outcomes aligned with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead programme management, provide technical leadership, and govern multiple concurrent housing projects to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
• Support pre-construction phases with expert advice on technical design, constructability, and governance to position projects effectively for consent and handover.
• Assure delivery during construction to ensure safety, timeliness, budget adherence, quality, and compliance.
• Manage build partners to align project execution with strategic priorities, program expectations, and budget constraints.
• Enhance team capability by mentoring Programme and Project Managers, offering technical support, and assisting with contract management and complex problem resolution.
