Senior Project Manager, Government Solutions

Role Overview

This role is with a partner company seeking a Senior Project Manager specialized in Government Solutions, located in Canada. You will lead complex technology transformation projects that enhance government services through smarter, innovative solutions. The position involves managing enterprise software implementations that modernize areas such as urban planning, housing delivery, and decision-making in the public sector. The work intersects AI, SaaS, and digital transformation, driving projects from initiation to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle delivery of enterprise software projects, from planning to post-launch support.
• Manage project scope, timelines, milestones, budget, risks, and overall results.
• Create and maintain detailed project plans, implementation roadmaps, and documentation.
• Serve as the primary liaison for government clients and strategic stakeholders during project phases.
• Lead governance meetings, progress briefings, executive reports, and stakeholder communications.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with technical, operational, and leadership teams on the client side.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to align deliveries with client objectives.
• Support user adoption through change management, training coordination, process enhancements, and readiness preparation.
• Continuously track project health, identify risks or impediments, and apply mitigation strategies.
• Drive improvements to delivery frameworks, methodologies, and operational workflows.
• Handle multiple concurrent projects involving distributed teams and regional differences.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 8 years' experience managing projects, program delivery, or implementation in tech environments.
• Proven background in enterprise SaaS implementations, software deployment, or digital transformation.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies.
• Ability to handle complex projects with numerous stakeholders, teams, and shifting priorities.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and technical experts.
• Strong organizational ability to manage deadlines, budgets, risks, and competing demands.
• Capability to oversee simultaneous projects across diverse teams and time zones.
• Preferred experience with government organizations, public sector clients, or regulated industries.
• Knowledge in digital transformation areas such as GovTech, PropTech, smart city solutions, urban planning, or infrastructure is a plus.
• Understanding of public sector privacy regulations (e.g., MFIPPA, FIPPA, FOIP) is advantageous.
• Preferred bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
• Certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project management credentials are highly regarded.
