Role overview
Auckland Airport is seeking expressions of interest for a Senior Project Manager to join its team and lead a portfolio of complex, high-impact initiatives. This position plays a key part in strengthening airport infrastructure and elevating service delivery across multiple areas of the business.
In this leadership role, you will steer major programs from early planning through to completion, bringing together strategy, stakeholder coordination, financial oversight, and delivery discipline. Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee major projects that influence airport operations and the customer experience.
- Create and manage detailed project plans that bring together multiple teams and functions.
- Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and airport service partners, to keep objectives aligned.
- Track progress and provide clear updates to senior leaders, maintaining accountability and visibility.
- Apply strong risk management methods to identify issues early and put effective controls in place.
- Promote ongoing improvement by refining processes and applying insights from completed work.
- Support, coach, and guide other project management team members while encouraging shared learning and strong delivery practices.
Requirements
- Significant background in project management, especially across large and complex infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively with people from different disciplines.
- Solid understanding of project delivery frameworks and methods such as Agile and PMBOK.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving capability.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills for effective stakeholder coordination.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, financial monitoring, and resource planning.
- Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are considered an advantage.
