Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager based in Irvine, CA, to work onsite four days per week on a 6 to 10 month contract engagement. The role requires leading the full product lifecycle within the wealth management domain while collaborating closely with diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, roadmap, backlog, prioritization, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release schedules.
- Translate business requirements into clear product features, workflows, and delivery guidelines.
- Handle data spanning client, household, account, position, transaction, cash flow, performance, and activity records.
- Identify and develop AI and generative AI applications that enhance advisor, client, operations, and service team processes.
- Leverage AI tools to support discovery, requirements gathering, analysis, prototyping, testing, and documentation.
- Utilize rapid prototyping methods including AI, low-code, no-code, and design platforms.
- Advocate AI-first software development lifecycle practices and ensure responsible AI use.
- Lead collaboration with business stakeholders, design, architecture, engineering, data, QA, and operations personnel.
- Conduct workshops, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, user acceptance testing, and assure release readiness.
- Manage milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and coordinate cross-team activities effectively.
- Work within onshore-offshore delivery models involving multiple time zones.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relations and deliver clear communications to executives.
- Provide domain expertise and clear direction to engineering teams.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 8 years in product management, product ownership, consulting, or business analysis roles.
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in wealth management or financial services.
- Deep knowledge of wealth management including client/advisor experience, CRM, financial planning, portfolio management, trading, rebalancing, performance reporting, custody, and back-office functions.
- Experience supporting high net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) or private wealth businesses.
- Hands-on proficiency with SQL for querying data and familiarity with Excel, BI, analytics, or data exploration tools.
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies, specifically AWS.
- Experience leveraging AI beyond basic prompting, with knowledge of AI-first SDLC and ethical AI considerations.
- Demonstrated skills in program management and portfolio management within a wealth domain context.
Additional Details
Interview process includes an initial virtual round, followed by a potential in-person interview. The role involves working onsite in Irvine, CA for four days weekly. Candidates will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams in an onshore-offshore model.
