Key Responsibilities

• Lead the product strategy and roadmap for KYC, KYB, and onboarding systems, ensuring precise balance between speedy customer access and strict regulatory compliance for both businesses and individuals.
• Guide the development of onboarding APIs and SDKs to simplify integration, enabling partners to seamlessly access Sphere's compliance and onboarding solutions.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to design risk rating programs, encompassing customer tiering, review, and monitoring from onboarding onward to support Sphere’s compliance framework.
• Develop internal tools to empower compliance and operations teams—such as case management queues, review workflows, escalation protocols, and decision audit trails—that translate regulatory demands into practical product features.
• Manage engineering efforts by defining specifications, evaluating trade-offs, and resolving blockers to keep delivery on track.
• Identify and monitor critical metrics like onboarding conversion rates, approval timelines, false positives, manual review volumes, and operational efficiency to drive continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of five years' experience in product management, with complete ownership from discovery and specification to launch and iteration.
• Experience at or in close collaboration with regulated institutions (banks, licensed money transmitters, payment processors), understanding the nuances of delivering products compliant with regulatory oversight.
• Proven expertise in either compliance and onboarding products (such as identity verification, onboarding pipelines, risk rating systems) or API/SDK infrastructure products designed for integrators.
• Hands-on experience working directly with engineering teams in technical decision-making and prioritization.
• Exceptional written communication skills for crafting precise product specifications and compliance-related documentation.
• Preferred qualifications include designing risk rating programs, familiarity with both KYC (individual verification) and KYB (business verification), and development of internal compliance tools.
• Additional advantages are background in Banking-as-a-Service environments, varied company stage experience (startups and established organizations), and Spanish language proficiency.
• Nice-to-have skills encompass crypto and stablecoin experience, technical educational background, banking experience, and Portuguese language skills.
