Job description
Role overview
Headlight is building a new approach to mental healthcare, guided by psychiatrists and focused on improving how people find care and how clinicians deliver it. The organization emphasizes transparency about treatment options and coverage, uses data to keep improving care delivery, and centers its mission on better outcomes for patients.
This position is designed for a product leader who can shape a clinical platform that feels invisible in the best way: fast, intuitive, and supportive of the clinician’s workflow. The goal is to reduce administrative friction, connect systems cleanly, and give care teams more time to focus on patients.
You will be the first product manager dedicated to the clinical experience, with ownership across the clinical surface area, including the EHR (NextGen), external integrations, internally built clinical tools, and the connection point with clinical operations. The role involves bringing together separate roadmaps, creating a product-led operating model, and helping build a clinical platform that supports better care delivery.
Company pillars
- Simplify the work
- Create authentic connections
- Raise the bar
What you will handle
- Create a vision for a best-in-class clinical experience by looking across the full clinician journey and designing for the overall system, not just isolated features.
- Own the roadmap for clinical systems by partnering with clinical, operations, and care teams to set priorities and define how success will be measured.
- Set up product governance by serving as the link between clinical stakeholders and engineering while making prioritization decisions based on measurable impact.
- Review AI and third-party solutions carefully by establishing evaluation standards and deciding when to build, configure, or buy based on actual value for clinicians.
- Track value in concrete terms such as time saved per session, fewer non-billable administrative hours, more billable hours captured, and better clinical outcomes.
- Improve the full clinical delivery stack, including workflow optimization inside NextGen, integration design that expands the EHR into the broader ecosystem, and new internal tools where no suitable off-the-shelf option exists.
- Own the integration layer across Blueprint, NextGen, and custom-built surfaces so the tools function as one connected system instead of disconnected pieces.
- Build clinical safety into the product process from the beginning, ensuring delivery speed never undermines clinical quality or patient safety.
Experience and skills needed
- At least 7 years of product management experience, with substantial exposure to healthcare or clinical products.
- Practical experience with EHR systems, including an understanding of how configurable they are and where custom solutions are needed; experience with NextGen, Epic, AdvancedMD, or Athena is preferred.
- Working knowledge of healthcare integration approaches such as HL7, FHIR, and API-based connections, along with the judgment to know what belongs inside the EHR and what belongs in a surrounding layer.
- Evidence of building a product function from the ground up by creating structure, earning trust, and delivering measurable improvements.
- Comfort using AI in practical ways, including tool evaluation, clinical risk review, and integration complexity assessment.
- Ability to translate product improvements into measurable business and clinical outcomes, such as time saved, hours recovered, and throughput gains.
- Clinical or clinical operations experience is preferred, and behavioral health experience is a strong advantage.
Why this opportunity stands out
This is a high-visibility role at an organization that is still early in developing a formal clinical product function, giving you the chance to shape the practice instead of inheriting it. You will have meaningful ownership of the clinical roadmap, direct access to the Head of Product, and the opportunity to build a platform that clinicians genuinely want to use.

- 401(k) plan with company contribution
