Senior Product Designer (Food)

Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior Product Designer to take ownership of the Merchant Portal for the Food business. This is a business-to-business product with significant operational impact, used every day by merchants to manage orders, content, and performance across their operations.

The role goes beyond standard UX work. You will design for a broad mix of users, from highly experienced operators to owners juggling service tasks and tablet-based management at the same time. Your work will span web and mobile experiences, with a focus on clarity, reliability, and practical value for users who need to move quickly.

This is an existing, high-traffic product rather than a new build. You will be improving a live platform backed by real merchants, real usage data, and real-world constraints.

What You Will Work On

• Designing smooth and efficient order-management flows across the full lifecycle.
• Improving tools for menu, product, pricing, and availability management.
• Creating mobile-friendly experiences for owners and managers who work on the move.
• Building merchant growth features such as performance visibility, promotions, and business insights.
• Enhancing onboarding and activation so new merchants can get started quickly and see value sooner.
• Adapting the product as the business expands into new markets.
• Raising clarity and ease of use for a non-technical merchant audience.
• Owning design from early problem definition through to delivery of the final experience.
• Handling complex flows, multiple states, and operational edge cases across web and mobile.
• Balancing simplicity for occasional users with depth for advanced users.
• Strengthening information structure, visual hierarchy, and overall UI quality.
• Partnering with Product Managers, Engineers, UX Writers, and other Designers.
• Using data, merchant feedback, and experimentation to refine solutions over time.
• Supporting design QA so the shipped product matches the intended behavior.
• Helping shape shared design patterns and suggesting improvements to design system owners when needed.

What We’re Looking For

This is a senior ownership role within a defined product area, working closely with the Merchant Portal team.

You should bring strong product design experience, usually around 5+ years, and be comfortable leading complex features from start to finish.

Experience with B2B or business software is important, especially if you understand how people use tools as part of their everyday job.

You should be highly attentive to usability for non-technical users and know how to remove friction without reducing functionality.

A strong sense of UX judgment and UI craft is important, including structure, hierarchy, and polish.

You should be equally comfortable working across mobile and web within the same product area.

The role also requires comfort with ambiguity, sound decision-making while requirements are still evolving, and the ability to clearly explain your design choices in collaborative settings.

Bonus Experience

• Background in merchant platforms, marketplace tools, or B2B SaaS products.
• Exposure to order management, inventory, or operational workflow design.
• Experience designing for audiences with varied levels of digital literacy.

Team Environment

You will join a multicultural Product Design team of 18+ designers working across customer products, merchant tools, and internal platforms. Designers are placed inside product teams and collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, UX Writers, and Researchers to solve problems together.
