About the role
The New Zealand Placement team is looking for an experienced Senior Placement Broker. This role is responsible for shaping insurance placement approaches, negotiating with insurers in local and global markets, and delivering solutions tailored to client needs. You will work alongside client servicing teams, specialist groups, and global broking partners to deliver strong outcomes for clients.
Key responsibilities
- Develop insurance programme structures, placement plans, and account review material for eligible clients.
- Advise client servicing teams on market options, placement tactics, and solution design.
- Maintain productive relationships with insurers across New Zealand, London, Asia, and Australia.
- Use Aon’s data and analytics tools to produce insights for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to retention of important accounts and support tender submissions and new business pursuits.
- Apply Aon United principles, operational excellence, and risk management practices in day-to-day work.
- Demonstrate enterprise leadership through collaboration across teams and alignment with Aon’s values.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of major insurance product lines, particularly Property, General Liability, and Motor.
- Demonstrated skill in negotiating and understanding policy wording.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing abilities.
- Capability to interpret data and turn it into client-focused recommendations.
- Comfort working in a changing environment with a record of supporting growth, profitability, and retention.
- Experience working effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
