About the Department of Internal Medicine
Our Internal Medicine division operates not as isolated specialists, but as a cohesive team that collaborates closely and supports each other through knowledge sharing. Patient-centered care is our primary focus to ensure the best possible treatment outcomes.
We maintain strong cooperative relationships with our nursing and technical staff, encouraging their skills development and autonomy. Our team approach transcends individual subspecialties, making us ideal for professionals seeking comprehensive internal medicine practice.
Under Chief Physician Dr. Markus Ewald's leadership, we collaborate extensively with all key and affiliated departments within our hospital, linked specialist centers in invasive cardiology, nephrology, and gastroenterology, as well as the University Hospital Würzburg (onco-hematology) and the Oncological Medical Care Center in Schweinfurt. We are members of the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) Mainfranken.
Role Overview
- Provide specialist medical care for patients, including participation in emergency on-call duties.
- Serve as a mentor and primary contact for assistant physicians and actively engage in their training and professional development.
- Perform relevant diagnostic and therapeutic procedures typical to the department, with opportunities for additional training as needed based on current skills and knowledge.
Candidate Profile
- Board certification in Internal Medicine. Candidates with subspecialty titles should demonstrate willingness and ability to represent the full breadth of internal medicine. Personal interests within the field can be incorporated and further developed.
- Fluent and professional command of the German language.
- Strong team spirit and organizational skills.
- Readiness to contribute actively across all major areas of internal medicine.
Compliance and Requirements
Prior to starting work at Krankenhaus St. Josef, candidates must provide proof of adequate vaccination or immunity against measles according to the Infection Protection Act (§ 23a in conjunction with § 20 paragraph 9 IfSG).
