Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is shared on behalf of a partner organization that handles the application review and all later stages of the process. The hiring company is seeking a Senior People Generalist located in Germany.
This is a practical, hands-on People role for someone who enjoys working where employee experience, data, and operations come together. You will help shape how a remote-first, globally distributed company supports its people throughout the employee journey. The position combines advisory support for managers and employees with strong ownership of People Operations and HR systems. You will contribute to the processes, tools, and insights that help the People team operate effectively at scale. Strong judgment, analytical capability, and a continuous-improvement mindset are essential, along with involvement in performance cycles, engagement work, and people analytics.
What you will do
- Advise managers on employee relations topics, coaching conversations, team dynamics, and performance-related discussions.
- Support the Head of People with more complex matters while independently resolving routine employee relations cases.
- Manage the full People Operations lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, HR systems, compliance, and benefits administration.
- Enhance existing workflows by introducing automation, AI-enabled tools, and more scalable People processes.
- Handle internal communications for policy updates, People programs, and organizational changes.
- Run performance review cycles end to end, including setup, scheduling, progress tracking, and completion follow-up.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports that turn People data into practical insights.
- Support employee engagement efforts through surveys, analysis, and recommendations for action.
- Assist recruiting operations when required, including coordination support and candidate experience work.
What they are looking for
You should already have solid experience in HR or People-focused roles and be comfortable working in a fast-moving, distributed environment.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in an HR Generalist, HRBP, or blended People Operations role.
- Good understanding of employee relations and basic employment law concepts.
- Practical experience running HR systems and People Operations processes from start to finish.
- Strong analytical ability and reporting skills, with advanced spreadsheet proficiency.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce clear documentation.
- Hands-on use of AI tools within HR or People workflows.
- Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams across different regions and employment setups.
- Sound judgment with the ability to balance empathy and decisiveness.
- Comfort with fast iteration and process improvement through feedback and experimentation.
- High ownership, accountability, and consistent follow-through.
Nice-to-have experience
- Background in gaming, social platforms, the creator economy, or VR/AR settings.
- Exposure to community-led or highly collaborative digital products.
- Experience supporting belonging and engagement initiatives in diverse organizations.
Benefits and additional information
- Fully remote setup with flexibility across locations worldwide.
- Health benefits package.
- Retirement coverage depending on location, such as 401(k) or RRSP.
- Stock options in the company.
- Generous paid holiday allowance.
- Flexible vacation policy or unlimited time off, depending on company policy.
- Paid parental leave.
- Chance to join a fast-growing, globally distributed team.
Application and data processing
The partner company manages applications and subsequent hiring steps directly. Shortlisted candidates are selected through an AI-supported matching process that is used to screen applications quickly and objectively against the role’s core requirements. The shortlist is then passed to the hiring company, which owns the final decision and next steps such as interviews and assessments.
By submitting an application, candidates acknowledge that their personal data will be processed for evaluation and shared with the employer as part of the hiring process, on the basis of legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. Applicants may exercise rights such as access, correction, deletion, and objection at any time.
Artificial intelligence tools may also be used to assist with parts of recruitment, including application review, resume analysis, response assessment, and identification of inconsistencies or verification signals in submitted materials. These tools support the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people.
