Role Overview
We seek a commercially savvy and strategic Senior Partnerships Manager to spearhead the partnership efforts for Fido in Uganda. The position involves discovering, negotiating, and overseeing impactful collaborations that drive customer growth, product uptake, and revenue expansion. The role requires effective network building with banks, fintech firms, telecoms, merchants, regulators, and other key stakeholders. Close collaboration with internal teams will facilitate the launch of new partner-led programs.
Key Duties
- Formulate and implement a focused partnership strategy aligned with company growth goals in Uganda.
- Identify, assess, and secure partnerships that increase Fido's distribution channels, loan disbursement volume, and market share.
- Establish a strong pipeline of prospective partners from sectors such as finance, telecom, retail, and technology.
- Lead negotiation and finalize contractual agreements with partners.
- Nurture enduring relationships with strategic collaborators to optimize mutual benefits.
- Function as the central liaison for principal partners and stakeholders.
- Track partnership success metrics, suggesting improvements when necessary.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, risk, operations, and commercial teams to roll out and scale partnership initiatives.
- Collect partner and customer feedback to guide product innovation.
- Assist in launching new financial products via strategic partner networks.
- Stay current with market trends, competitor activities, and emerging partnership openings.
- Analyze industry patterns and consumer behavior to seize new growth avenues.
- Provide insights backed by data to drive strategic and commercial decisions.
- Act as a company representative internally and at external forums including industry events and meetings, ensuring follow-through on decisions.
- Guarantee all partnerships operate within regulatory and contractual frameworks.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field; a master's degree or professional certification is a plus.
- At least 7 years of experience in partnerships, strategic alliances, fintech, banking, or the financial services sector.
- Demonstrated success in establishing and managing strategic partnerships that generate measurable growth.
- Advanced skills in commercial negotiation and contract management.
- Extensive network and profound understanding of Uganda's fintech, banking, digital payments, or financial services ecosystem.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong analytical capability with experience leveraging data for commercial decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills.
- Able to manage various strategic projects in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally across product, marketing, operations, and risk departments.
