Position Overview
The Senior Operations Staff plays a critical role in managing daily operational tasks at various Blue Dart locations including service centres, hubs, warehouses, and processing units. The role's primary focus is to ensure shipment processing is carried out efficiently and accurately while supporting shift supervisors in operational management and coaching team members to maintain service quality and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out tasks such as receiving, sorting, scanning, bagging, tagging, and processing shipments efficiently across operational stations.
- Assist in loading and unloading packages while ensuring material handling safety.
- Ensure shipments are routed correctly to prevent errors and mis-sorting.
- Conduct shipment reconciliations and confirm manifest details for accuracy.
- Support operational continuity during high volume periods and contingency scenarios.
- Perform timely data entry and update shipments in company systems, maintaining accurate operational records and reporting any inconsistencies immediately.
- Adhere strictly to Blue Dart’s standard operating procedures and quality checks to minimize errors and improve process efficiency.
- Assist in training new operations staff, sharing best practices, and fostering team collaboration.
- Follow all safety and security protocols, promoting a culture of workplace safety and compliance with statutory regulations.
- Maintain professional business conduct, including proper grooming, wearing prescribed uniform, and maintaining an orderly work area.
- Participate actively in operational reviews, contribute to process improvements, and support business expansion efforts and peak season readiness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational requirement is a minimum of completion of the 10th standard; higher qualifications are preferred.
- Between 3 to 6 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, express distribution, or supply chain operations, preferably with hands-on experience in shipment processing, scanning, sorting, and warehouse functions.
- Familiarity with handheld scanners and warehouse management systems is an asset.
Eligibility
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old and physically capable of performing tasks involving standing, walking, and manual handling.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts including weekends and holidays as per business needs.
- Basic proficiency in English reading and communication as well as familiarity with computers and mobile scanning devices.
- An understanding of operational discipline and strict compliance to procedures is needed.
