Role overview
Africa World Airlines Limited is recruiting a Senior Officer to support cargo and courier operations in Accra. The role calls for a highly organized professional who can coordinate day-to-day cargo activities, monitor service quality, and help ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and regional cargo and courier operations effectively.
- Oversee and manage the operational activities connected to cargo and mail services.
- Maintain clear information flow between AWA Cargo, Logistics, and appointed forwarders at the base station.
- Inspect and oversee third-party providers and subcontracted services.
- Assess whether services are adequate and compliant, then take appropriate action to maintain acceptable standards.
- Check export paperwork to understand cargo contents and assign goods to the correct tariff category based on shipper declarations.
- Make sure cargo operations follow the relevant aviation regulations and standards, including required security procedures.
- Handle daily cargo and courier sales reconciliation and ensure records are properly managed.
- Support the coordination of IOSA audits.
- Carry out additional duties as needed.
Qualifications and experience
- A first degree from an accredited university is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in cargo or courier operations is required.
- Training in cargo/courier operations through IATA or a similar relevant program is required.
- A Dangerous Goods certificate is an added advantage.
