Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on building, rolling out, and continually improving Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) practices that support a secure, sustainable, and efficient workplace. The role helps safeguard employee well-being, maintain legal and regulatory compliance, and raise operational and environmental standards through ongoing improvement. It also involves working closely with internal stakeholders to strengthen a strong culture of safety, sustainability, and quality in line with business objectives.

Strategic responsibilities

  • Create and put in place HSEQ policies and operating frameworks that support company objectives and legal obligations.
  • Lead sustainability efforts aimed at lowering environmental impact and using resources more efficiently.
  • Set, track, and report on HSEQ key performance indicators to measure compliance and improvement progress.
  • Partner with senior leadership to embed continuous improvement across safety, quality, and environmental practices.
  • Ensure activities remain aligned with ISO requirements and other applicable regulations to preserve certifications and audit readiness.

Health responsibilities

  • Carry out ergonomic reviews to improve workstation setup and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal strain.
  • Arrange wellness initiatives that address mental health, stress control, and general employee well-being.
  • Support health screening drives, vaccination campaigns, and first-aid awareness and training.

Safety responsibilities

  • Undertake routine hazard assessments and safety audits to identify workplace risks.
  • Manage fire protection measures, including extinguisher upkeep, alarm systems, and evacuation planning.
  • Run fire drills and emergency preparedness sessions to improve response capability.
  • Oversee safe handling of office equipment and ensure safety procedures are followed to prevent incidents.

Environment responsibilities

  • Introduce energy-efficiency measures such as LED upgrades, motion sensors, and reduced-waste initiatives.
  • Support waste sorting and recycling for paper, plastics, e-waste, and hazardous waste streams.
  • Track and improve usage of electricity and water to meet sustainability objectives.
  • Encourage paperless working methods and other environmentally friendly practices in everyday office operations.

Quality responsibilities

  • Perform internal quality audits to confirm compliance with ISO 9001 and related standards.
  • Spot process gaps and inefficiencies and recommend improvements to strengthen performance.
  • Develop quality indicators to monitor and enhance service and operational standards.
  • Keep HSEQ policies, audit records, and compliance documents current and well organized.
  • Coordinate staff training to build awareness of, and adherence to, quality systems.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Admin & Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Assurance, or a closely related discipline.
  • HSEQ certification is strongly preferred.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in HSEQ functions, preferably within office or corporate settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in shaping HSEQ policies and running safety and sustainability programs.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, along with compliance requirements.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and related safety tools or software.

Additional information
