Job description
About the Role
GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Marketing Events Manager to join its Experiential Marketing team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Experiential Marketing and take full ownership of Collaborative, the company’s annual flagship customer conference. You will also work closely with the wider events team to help deliver field and brand events.
This position is best suited to someone with extensive conference experience, sound operational decision-making, and the ability to coordinate complex, multi-track programs with many dependencies.
Flagship Event Ownership
- Lead planning and delivery for Collaborative from start to finish, covering production, vendor coordination, run-of-show development, supporting programming, and on-site leadership.
- Oversee logistics for the entire conference environment, including general sessions, breakout sessions, customer dinners, receptions, executive programming, and other related event activities.
- Work with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing partners to align audience strategy, session priorities, and follow-up actions after the event.
- Keep project schedules, timelines, and budgets up to date, identify potential issues early, and ensure all related workstreams continue moving forward.
- Maintain strong brand consistency across every Collaborative experience and touchpoint.
Field and Brand Event Support
- Collaborate with other members of the events team to support field marketing events, roundtables, partner activations, and brand-led programs.
- Handle logistics for sponsored external events, including booth preparation, staffing coordination, and distribution of promotional assets.
- Adapt event experiences to suit audience expectations and local market context.
Measurement and Reporting
- Monitor event results against key performance indicators such as attendance, pipeline impact, and engagement.
- Prepare post-event summaries and highlight insights that can shape future programming and budget planning.
Operations and Scalability
- Manage vendor and venue partnerships, including contract discussions and on-site delivery performance.
- Create and maintain process guides, project trackers, and cross-functional task lists that strengthen team efficiency and help scale programs.
- Coach junior teammates and contractors on execution standards and project management best practices.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings 5–8 years of experience in event marketing or experiential marketing, along with direct responsibility for large conferences of 500+ attendees that run over multiple days and multiple tracks. You should be comfortable coordinating complex logistics across the full conference footprint, including ancillary events, executive sessions, and third-party activations. Strong project management ability is essential, along with the discipline to manage several workstreams at once while staying detail-oriented and budget-aware. Clear communication, vendor negotiation experience, and comfort traveling up to 30% of the time are also important. Familiarity with Salesforce, Swoogo, ClickUp, or similar tools is expected.
Preferred Background
A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred. Experience in B2B SaaS, nonprofit technology, or a comparable industry is also valued, as is exposure to building scalable event operations systems and post-event reporting processes.
Benefits and Workplace Highlights
- Mission-driven work with the opportunity to contribute to a company that helps people support one another.
- A collaborative, fast-moving, and innovative team environment.
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive healthcare coverage.
- Support for hybrid-work needs, family planning, generous parental leave, flexible time off, and mental health and wellness resources.
- Learning, development, and recognition programs that support growth.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including employee resource groups and ongoing initiatives.
- Opportunities to make an impact through volunteering.
