About the Role

GoFundMe is looking for a senior content leader to guide the storytelling and programming approach for its community and events portfolio. This role supports brand events, field events, community gatherings, and the company’s flagship conference, Collaborative. You will connect event strategy with the content that shapes each experience, including keynote storylines, session summaries, speaker preparation materials, and post-event deliverables.

The position is well suited to someone who combines strategic thinking, strong editorial judgment, event programming experience, and project management discipline. Success in this role means turning complex, mission-focused ideas into clear and engaging content for a range of audiences.

Content Strategy and Event Programming

  • Set the content direction, messaging approach, and programming plan for brand, field, and community events.
  • Own the content strategy and execution for Collaborative, ensuring the conference supports business objectives, brand standards, and audience expectations.
  • Design the flow of agendas, keynotes, breakout sessions, and supporting sessions together with internal partners.
  • Create and manage session proposals, including topic outlines, speaker justification, and learning goals aligned to broader event priorities.
  • Weave product messaging and positioning into event content so every session supports the event agenda.
  • Identify, pitch, and secure keynote and featured speakers, handling outreach from first contact through final confirmation and building a long-term speaker bench.
  • Use audience insights, event feedback, and engagement data to improve future programming and content performance.
  • Work closely with Communications and Product Marketing to keep themes, stories, and messaging aligned across all channels.

Content Development and Writing

  • Draft and refine content for speaker sessions, executive talks, panel discussions, and event materials.
  • Work with customers, outside speakers, and internal leaders to shape complex ideas into concise, persuasive narratives.
  • Prepare speaker support materials such as briefing docs, rehearsal guides, and pre-event information packages.
  • Create event marketing assets in coordination with marketing teams, including emails, landing page copy, session descriptions, and social posts.

Project and Workflow Management

  • Create reusable content templates and playbooks that can scale as the events calendar grows.
  • Own timelines and content schedules so deliverables are completed on time.
  • Maintain a clear, documented workflow for reviews, approvals, and version tracking.
  • Monitor performance metrics such as attendance, evaluations, NPS, and session ratings, then share findings with stakeholders to guide future events.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Communications, Marketing, Product, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure event content supports business goals.
  • Develop trusted relationships with customers, thought leaders, and external speakers to create memorable event experiences.
  • Advise internal leaders on keynote preparation and executive presentation content.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in content strategy, event content management, or a related area such as B2B marketing, brand storytelling, or corporate communications.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling ability, including the skill to simplify complex topics.
  • Proven background creating content for large conferences, executive presentations, or multi-format event programs.
  • Excellent project management capabilities with experience balancing multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Background building content for conferences, executive presentations, or large-scale events.
  • Experience in the nonprofit and/or social sector, with an understanding of mission-driven audiences and needs.
  • Ability to connect content strategy to sales and marketing outcomes.
  • Comfortable building and editing presentations in PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides.
  • Strong collaboration skills across departments and with outside partners.
  • Highly structured, careful, and disciplined in day-to-day work.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to event production and audience engagement tactics.
  • Experience using content marketing platforms and project management tools such as ClickUp.

Why You’ll Enjoy Working Here

  • Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven company that supports people helping one another at scale.
  • Fast-moving, inventive environment with a talented and diverse team.
  • Collaborative culture that values teamwork and shared success.
  • Competitive compensation along with comprehensive healthcare coverage.
  • Well-rounded support benefits, including help with hybrid work expenses, family planning, generous parental leave, flexible time off, and mental health and wellness resources.
  • Learning, development, and recognition programs to support professional growth.
  • Ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through initiatives and employee resource groups.
  • Volunteer opportunities that help strengthen community impact.
