Job description

About the role

GoFundMe is looking for a seasoned events professional to lead and grow its experiential marketing capability. In this position, you will report to the Director of Community & Engagement and own the strategy and delivery for Collaborative, the company’s annual flagship conference, along with a calendar of more than 40 field events that support pipeline generation, customer loyalty, and GoFundMe’s standing in the nonprofit sector.

This is a senior leadership role with broad ownership across the function. You will help shape how the company presents itself in the market, build the systems needed to operate at scale, and work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Marketing.

What you will do

  • Set the yearly events roadmap for Collaborative and the wider field marketing calendar so it supports pipeline, retention, and brand objectives.
  • Develop and improve the events function, including program structure, vendor management, and operational processes that enable scale and consistency.
  • Own the experiential marketing budget and ensure event programs produce measurable returns.
  • Act as the organization’s specialist for event experience design, covering content planning, speaker strategy, on-site activation, and audience engagement.
  • Represent the function in leadership planning and other cross-functional business discussions.
  • Lead the full planning and execution cycle for Collaborative, GoFundMe’s annual customer conference.
  • Shape the attendee journey, including programming, customer and sales engagement tracks, and production quality.
  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to strengthen pipeline influence and executive participation before, during, and after the conference.
  • Keep the team focused on annual attendance and pipeline goals through clear milestones and accountability.
  • Oversee a portfolio of more than 40 events, including roundtables, meetups, and partner-led activations.
  • Make field events locally relevant, tailored to the audience, and tied to measurable pipeline and retention outcomes.
  • Coordinate involvement in sponsored third-party events, including planning, logistics, and sales activation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports and contractors.
  • Establish priorities, provide ongoing feedback, and foster a high-performing and accountable team environment.
  • Partner closely across departments to manage complexity and keep programs aligned with shared goals.
  • Define success metrics for all event programs and regularly report on pipeline influence, engagement, and ROI.
  • Use post-event results and field insights to refine event formats, content, and targeting.
  • Bring field-level intelligence back to Marketing leadership to help shape broader go-to-market priorities and messaging.
  • Serve as the main events partner for Sales, Customer Success, and Product by turning business priorities into event strategy.
  • Run cross-functional project management to keep programs on schedule, within budget, and aligned to the same outcomes.

What the company is looking for

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in event marketing, experiential marketing, or field marketing, including 3 to 4 years of people management.
  • A strong record of leading large B2B events, ideally with 1,000+ attendees, multi-track programming, executive involvement, and sponsor coordination, with direct accountability for pipeline impact.
  • Experience building or scaling an events function, not only executing within an existing one.
  • Confidence and executive presence when presenting strategy and results to senior leaders.
  • Strong ability to align Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing around shared event goals as a peer-level partner.
  • Experience owning budgets and using disciplined ROI tracking and reporting.
  • Excellent organization and composure under pressure while managing competing priorities across a busy event calendar.
  • Background in B2B SaaS, nonprofit technology, or another mission-driven environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Swoogo, ClickUp, or comparable event and project management platforms.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Preferred education

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred.

Why people enjoy working here

  • Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that positively affects millions of lives each year.
  • Work with a diverse, passionate, and talented team in a fast-moving environment.
  • Join a collaborative culture that values teamwork and shared success.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive healthcare coverage.
  • Additional support such as financial assistance for hybrid work and family planning, generous parental leave, flexible time off, and mental health and wellness resources.
  • Access to learning, development, and recognition programs designed to support growth.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through employee initiatives and resource groups.
  • Opportunities to make an impact through volunteering.
