Role Overview
We seek a seasoned Senior Manual QA Tester to oversee comprehensive quality assurance duties for web, mobile, and backend platforms. This role involves shaping the QA strategy, supervising manual testing teams, assuring high-quality software delivery, and collaborating with stakeholders in Agile setups across Canada.
Key Duties
- Lead manual QA efforts over various projects.
- Develop and own the QA strategy, including test planning and methodologies.
- Evaluate and endorse test scenarios and results.
- Manage system, integration, regression, and UAT testing phases.
- Guarantee full requirement traceability and test coverage.
- Log and track defects using tools such as JIRA, ALM, and Azure DevOps.
- Conduct root cause analysis and ensure prompt issue resolution.
- Collaborate tightly with developers, product owners, analysts, and scrum masters.
- Facilitate daily QA meetings, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Provide mentorship and oversee team peer reviews.
- Ensure compliance with QA standards and promote continuous process improvements.
- Support release readiness and decision-making processes.
Required Expertise
- Robust manual testing experience for web and mobile applications.
- Deep knowledge of SDLC and STLC frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Agile and Scrum practices.
- Expertise in functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.
- Proficiency in test case design techniques like Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Partitioning, and Decision Tables.
Tools & Technologies
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools: JIRA, ALM, TestRail, Azure DevOps.
- Experience in cross-browser and device testing.
- Basic SQL skills beneficial for data validation.
- Awareness of API testing using Postman or equivalent tools is advantageous.
Leadership & Communication
- Demonstrated leadership of manual QA teams ranging from 5 to 15 members.
- Strong communication skills and capability in stakeholder management.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet strict timelines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience coordinating with onshore and offshore teams.
Additional Advantages
- Familiarity with test automation concepts including Selenium, Playwright, and Cypress.
- Experience with domain-specific testing such as Banking, Healthcare, Insurance, or E-commerce.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
Educational Qualification
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline is required.
