Role Overview

The Teaming@BCG function embodies the organization’s mission to maximize client value and foster professional growth by cultivating high-performing teams grounded in core values of Value Focus, Team Trust, and Growth Mindset. As a Senior Manager in Teaming@BCG for Africa, you will support regional leadership to innovate, implement, and expand Teaming principles and tools throughout the African offices and across the client teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach case teams in applying the OneBCG approach to enhance collaboration and client impact.
  • Facilitate creation of high-performing, inclusive and trustful teams that pursue client success alongside personal and professional development.
  • Provide targeted team coaching across multiple cases to promote multidisciplinary collaboration for client outcomes and sustainability.
  • Collaborate closely with Managing Directors/Partners and Case Leaders to proactively identify and improve team dynamics.
  • Establish and maintain structured partnerships with Managing Directors/Partners, including regular portfolio reviews, case onboarding, and capacity planning with staffing teams.
  • Conduct individual and team coaching with Associate Consultants to diagnose core challenges and share effective practices.
  • Act as a driver of change to embed firm-wide priorities such as Amplify Impact and Integrity into team workflows.
  • Work with Amplify Impact leadership to advance enablement efforts throughout the region.
  • Manage complex situations by engaging senior leadership to resolve critical teaming issues effectively.
  • Promote a strong Teaming culture by encouraging collaboration, knowledge exchange, and sharing best practices across the organization.
  • Support additional strategic and operational Teaming initiatives aligned with the OneBCG approach as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive team management or executive coaching experience.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Fluency in English, essential for coaching across case teams.
  • Direct experience working or living within the African context.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A consulting background, ideally with BCG, including a minimum of 2 years as a team leader.
  • Proficiency in French to support coaching in Northern African offices, though this is not mandatory.

  • Expertise in coaching diverse, cross-functional teams to optimize teamwork and performance.
  • Strong influencing skills with senior stakeholders and ability to lead change through thought leadership.
  • Adept at problem-solving in dynamic, high-pressure environments while managing multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly in virtual and hybrid work settings.
  • Passion for innovation in collaborative processes, such as driving the Amplify Impact initiative.
  • Committed to fostering high-performance team cultures with a people-centered approach.

  • Other BCG departments such as Learning & Development, Staffing, Marketing, and Recruiting.
