The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Angelenos by promoting tourism, a key economic sector employing over 543,000 people and generating $45 billion in business sales in 2024. Representing more than 1,000 local tourism businesses, it manages global marketing efforts to position Los Angeles as a premier travel destination. Signature initiatives include the Dine LA program, one of the nation’s largest restaurant weeks, featuring nearly 450 eateries across 88 neighborhoods and 33 global cuisines. LA County hosts over 180 Michelin-awarded restaurants, with 32 participating in Dine LA. As a global sports capital, LA will also host major events like eight FIFA World Cup matches and the Super Bowl.
Role Overview
The Senior Manager of Social Media & Content Production is responsible for creating and managing engaging daily content that highlights the vibrancy and diversity of Los Angeles’s culture and neighborhoods across global social media platforms. The position involves hands-on content creation including writing, shooting, editing, and publishing. Key responsibilities include maintaining a social media calendar, managing partnerships with agencies and influencers, and contributing creatively to align with the brand’s voice and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day social media operations for LA Tourism’s platforms with over 6 million followers, including content creation, editing, publishing, and community engagement.
- Collaborate on social media strategy development with the Creative Director and coordinate with freelancers and influencers for campaigns such as Dine LA, LA Pride, and major sports events; handle contracts and negotiations.
- Create and distribute original social content that captures real-time opportunities to generate traffic and support program goals.
- Maintain a bi-weekly editorial calendar sensitive to current cultural events to guide social media posting and community interaction.
- Coordinate with advertising partners to integrate paid and organic content, optimize performance, and manage asset flow.
- Support brand campaigns by translating concepts into social media content suitable for various platforms.
- Deliverables management for partner and ad sales, including giveaways, and provide performance analytics for stakeholders.
- Attend Los Angeles events, including evenings and weekends, to source content focused on tourism marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align social media messaging with key tourism initiatives and crisis communications.
- Maintain professional relationships with regional, state, and national tourism organizations.
- Monitor social media sentiment regarding Los Angeles using analytics tools and report actionable insights.
Qualifications
- 4 to 5 years of active social media and content production experience, preferably with lifestyle, entertainment, sports, or consumer brands.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for work, including occasional evening and weekend events.
- Strong familiarity with the Los Angeles community, culture, and events.
- Expertise in creative writing, photo and video editing, and effective communication across multiple platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of social media trends, influencer marketing, brand management, and digital tools.
- Experience using social analytics to optimize content performance.
- Effective collaborator with agencies, media teams, and creative partners, exhibiting a team-oriented approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Dependable with a positive attitude and a motivated team player mindset.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range offered is $80,000 to $103,000 annually, with bonus eligibility. Benefits include:
- Hybrid work model with remote work on Mondays and Fridays; office presence in Downtown LA Tuesday through Thursday.
- Company-paid parking and early office closures on Fridays.
- Remote work during Thanksgiving week and holiday office closure from December 24 to January 1.
