Job description
Role Overview
USV is seeking a Senior Manager for the Plant Commercial / GST function at its USFDA formulation manufacturing facility handling OSD and sterile products. The role is based at Daman near Vapi, Gujarat, and reports to the Plant Head.
Key Responsibilities
The position covers commercial compliance, GST coordination, export documentation, and liaison with multiple statutory departments.
- Review SAP sales register dumps, cross-check invoices for HSN classification, taxable value, tax rate, supply location, scheme usage, and related details, and escalate any mismatches to the relevant team to maintain compliance.
- Examine and approve pre-export documentation, including invoices prepared under schemes such as Advance Licence and DBK.
- Track advance licence utilisation, allocation against export obligations, and closure requirements by arranging destruction or end-use certificates; also maintain production constraint records and licence-related data.
- Verify gate pass details for sample movement and miscellaneous dispatches, including place of supply, tax rate, value, purpose, and e-way bill applicability, then reconcile SAP data and share variance reports with the HO Commercial team for GST liability calculation.
- Coordinate with the GST department on notices, replies, audit support, reconciliations, correspondence records, and litigation tracking.
- Prepare monthly GST-related working for control samples and destruction cases, verify supporting documents, calculate duty payable, route approvals to HO, and coordinate with Accounts for liability booking and payment.
- Handle interactions with the State Excise department for licence renewals, alcohol permits, monthly returns, and other related statutory matters.
- Support QC in coordinating with the NCB department for notices, replies, records of receipt and consumption, and quarterly return submissions.
- Compile monthly MIS and submit it to HO and the Plant Head.
- Coordinate with the NSSO department as required.
- Manage customs-related coordination, including stuffing permission and export clearance support where needed.
Compliance and Coordination
This role requires strong documentation control, accuracy in statutory reporting, and regular follow-up with internal teams and government authorities to ensure timely and compliant operations.
