Job description
Role overview
This position is focused on building, delivering, and continuously improving learning programs for both new and seasoned pharmaceutical sales representatives. The objective is to strengthen product understanding and selling capability so the commercial team can contribute more effectively to business growth.
Training needs assessment
- Contribute strategic and operational ideas for choosing the right training methods.
- Carry out training needs assessments based on business priorities.
- Support the collection and organization of data required for identifying learning gaps.
Content creation and enhancement
- Develop a deep understanding of the assigned training topic before building the content.
- Research the subject in detail, prepare complete manuscripts, and obtain the required certifications.
- Keep existing modules current by revising them whenever business needs change.
- Present manuscripts to the team lead for review and incorporate suggested improvements.
- Transform approved material into engaging learning formats such as slides, videos, and digital modules.
- Implement revision cycles and secure final sign-off before rollout.
Training preparation and delivery
- Arrange high-quality training material and coordinate with vendors for sourcing and preparation.
- Plan and conduct sessions according to the agreed agenda.
- Gather participant feedback to assess the trainer’s effectiveness.
- Assess participants and prepare detailed performance and development feedback for each individual.
- Ensure feedback forms that measure trainer effectiveness are completed after each session.
Post-training review
- Share participant feedback and development reports with the relevant Business Unit heads and line managers.
- Collect and review feedback from participants’ immediate supervisors after training.
- Compile training data to evaluate impact and improve trainer effectiveness.
- Recheck the baseline data captured during the needs assessment stage to identify real-world changes and improvements.
Stakeholder engagement
Internally, the role works closely with BU heads, line managers, team leaders, and sales representatives to align learning efforts with business requirements, review training content, and share performance feedback. Externally, the role coordinates with vendors and training solution providers for the customization and procurement of training materials and modules.
Experience and professional profile
The role calls for at least 2 years of focused experience in pharma sales training and up to 15 years of total professional experience. Candidates should bring strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and medical concepts, along with experience in instructional design, manuscript development, and converting content into slides, videos, and digital learning modules. Familiarity with training needs identification methods and evaluation frameworks is also important.
Academic qualification and certification
A life science background is required, including B.Sc., B.Pharm, or a related allied sciences qualification. The selected candidate must also obtain certifications in the relevant training topics or modules, as required by the business.
