Job description
Company overview
Grab is a leading superapp in Southeast Asia, supporting people with everyday services such as food delivery, mobility, and financial tools. The company is driven by a mission to help move Southeast Asia forward by economically empowering people, with a culture shaped by purpose, excellence, and humility.
Team context
This position sits within the Office of Organisational Capabilities (OCO), supporting Grab’s Chief Organisational Capabilities Officer. The team works closely with the People team — including Corporate Real Estate and Security Team (CREST), Grabber Technology Services (GTS), and People Operations (Pops) — as well as Public Affairs. The role is especially focused on the People team, operating across the physical, digital, and people experience areas that affect employee performance.
Role overview
The Senior Manager, People Science will play a key part in helping Grab reach its People North Star by improving productivity through stronger motivation, better skills, fewer blockers, and more efficient People Team costs. The role goes beyond describing past trends and instead focuses on forecasting outcomes and recommending the most effective actions to take.
Key responsibilities
You will lead work that supports meaningful transformation across the People function, combining strategy, execution, and technical capability.
- Make people data more accessible and useful for different user groups so they can independently explore it and extract relevant insights.
- Work with the People Data Warehouse team on scalable and sustainable solutions for automation, secure data access, stability, and data quality.
- Design platforms and tools that deliver timely insights and deeper analysis, including converting existing People Impact Card outputs into automated newsletters and real-time nudges using internal tools such as Cortana and Valet.
- Create new products that help teams drive change, act on insights, and enrich the People Data Warehouse, such as tools that support self-service role redesign and org redesign informed by AI’s impact on work tasks.
- Develop predictive insights tied to the People North Star, such as flight risk, skill growth, disengagement signals, and cost-to-serve, while turning complex analysis into clear executive-level narratives for decision-makers.
What the role requires
The ideal candidate is a practical, strategic leader who is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment and bringing both analytical depth and hands-on execution.
- Ability to think strategically, define a future state, and map the changes needed to get there.
- Experience leading teams and raising performance in a collaborative, outcome-focused environment.
- Comfort with fast-moving priorities, balancing speed with high standards, and adapting quickly when needed.
- Capability to redesign processes and implement better ways of working.
- Hands-on use of AI to quickly prototype people tools such as self-serve solutions and automated nudges based on data triggers.
- Strong business and financial judgement, including understanding value drivers and trade-offs.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Awareness of data privacy, algorithmic bias, and ethical considerations when using AI and analytics.
- Ability to interpret data through a human and behavioural lens, including cultural and role-level differences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including convening groups, resolving tensions, and influencing senior and cross-functional partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information and support productive discussions.
Benefits and workplace support
- Term life insurance and comprehensive medical coverage.
- Access to GrabFlex, which allows employees to shape a benefits package around their needs.
- Parental leave and birthday leave, plus Love-all-Serve-all volunteering leave to support community giving.
- Confidential Grabber Assistance Programme for help during personal challenges.
- FlexWork arrangements, including differentiated hours, to make it easier to balance personal commitments.
Inclusion statement
Grab is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable workplace where people from all backgrounds can thrive. All applicants are considered fairly and without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, physical or mental disability, or any other unique attribute.
