Position Summary
This senior leadership post within the Australian delivery division is responsible for overseeing all facets of engineering, product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and project implementation. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the role focuses on creating and executing the delivery strategy that supports company growth while ensuring all outputs meet high safety, budget, timeline, and quality benchmarks.
Key Duties
- Lead the engineering team in continuous product development focusing on safety and manufacturability.
- Manage manufacturing operations and supply chain efforts, applying lean methodologies and promoting zero-defect objectives.
- Collaborate with project management teams to plan and deliver deployments according to schedule.
- Synchronize engineering and manufacturing resources with the customer's pipeline for accurate project bids and commitments.
- Develop and uphold quality assurance protocols across all delivery phases.
- Incorporate field reliability and technician feedback into ongoing improvement processes.
- Administer budgets covering engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain while optimizing staffing and costs.
- Build and nurture a skilled delivery team with clear growth paths and succession planning.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 12 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or product delivery with progressive leadership roles.
- At least 5 years managing multidisciplinary teams in engineering and manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex technology hardware products from conception to deployment.
- Expertise in manufacturing operations, supply chain management, production planning, and quality systems.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement approaches.
- Proven project management skills (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) in complex environments involving multiple stakeholders.
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Systems, or related disciplines.
- Preferred: advanced qualifications in engineering management, project management or business, experience with government tenders/bids, and knowledge of ISO quality and safety standards.
Additional Information
The role includes national and some international travel along with occasional work outside regular hours to coordinate across time zones. This is part of the company’s global operations and adds an engaging dynamic to the work environment.
