Job description
About the Company
LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network, created to expand economic opportunity for people across the global workforce. Its products are designed to help members build valuable connections, find opportunities, develop skills, and gain insights that support their careers. The company also emphasizes employee growth and aims to foster a workplace rooted in trust, care, inclusion, and fun.
Role Overview
This position sits within the Market Insights Market Strategy team, a research and insights center of excellence that helps LinkedIn Marketing make confident, audience-led, data-informed decisions. The team combines audience understanding, multiple data sources, smart technology, and strategic partnership to support business decisions.
The role is for a strategic, hands-on insights leader who will own LinkedIn’s B2B Marketing Solution Insights function with a focus on enterprise customers. The goal is to help shape go-to-market strategy for LinkedIn Marketing Solutions by turning complex signals from research, behavioral data, and business data into clear direction for marketing priorities.
This is a full-stack insights role for someone comfortable working through ambiguity, building learning agendas, leading research from end to end, and presenting executive-ready recommendations. Experience in digital advertising, media, or marketing platforms would be especially valuable because of the customer and ecosystem focus. The role also contributes to rebuilding and scaling insights capabilities in a fast-paced technology environment.
Work Location and Flexibility
The role follows a hybrid work model, with work split between home and a LinkedIn office based on team needs. It can be based in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, or Bellevue.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently drive major research efforts tied to business and marketing priorities, turning broad or unclear problems into structured learning plans and research questions.
- Build and run qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research programs end to end, using sound judgment to choose the right approach and ensure the output is practical and decision-ready.
- Create recommendations that link audience behavior, market shifts, and business opportunities by combining primary research, behavioral indicators, digital advertising data, product adoption data, competitor intelligence, and performance metrics.
- Act as a reliable advisor to stakeholders across B2B LinkedIn Marketing Solutions on marketing, product, and go-to-market strategy.
- Spot information gaps early, anticipate what stakeholders need, and shape priorities with evidence-based recommendations that are ready for executive review.
- Drive influence through strong communication, credible insights, and compelling storytelling across different levels of the organization, while working with stakeholders to understand how insights are used and what impact they create.
- Promote modern, AI-supported research methods and look for ways to increase the effectiveness, speed, and overall value of research work through innovative practices.
- Help build team standards, frameworks, and best practices, while also mentoring and coaching peers.
Qualifications
Basic requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Market Research, Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in market research, customer insights, marketing strategy, consulting, or a similar area.
- Strong understanding of the digital advertising industry and how its ecosystem continues to evolve.
Preferred qualifications
- A master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Market Research, Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 or more years of experience in market research, B2B insights, marketing strategy, consulting, or related disciplines.
- Deep knowledge of B2B marketing, including buying groups, enterprise purchase journeys, and complex decision-making.
- Extensive hands-on experience planning and leading qualitative and quantitative research from start to finish.
- Demonstrated ability to combine several data sources into clear business recommendations.
- Experience shaping decisions for senior stakeholders and informing marketing, product, and go-to-market strategy.
- Strong commercial thinking and the ability to connect research outcomes to business results.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- Experience using AI-enabled tools and technologies to improve research quality and efficiency.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $149,000 to $233,000 per year. Final pay will depend on factors such as skills, years of experience, certifications, and work location, and may vary in other locations because of labor-cost differences.
The overall compensation package may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and/or other incentive compensation plans.
