Senior Manager, Digital Industry Singapore

About the Role and Organisation

This position is with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), a government body under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which is tasked with strategies that boost Singapore’s status as a global hub for business, innovation, and talent. The EDB supports investment promotion and industry development by connecting international and local businesses to partners and government incentives, aiming for sustainable economic growth and abundant quality jobs for Singaporeans. The Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) is a joint initiative of EDB, Enterprise Singapore (ESG), and Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) focused on fostering Singapore’s technology ecosystem. DISG drives job creation, capability development, enterprise innovation, and global integration of digital businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary DISG liaison for a portfolio of leading tech companies (such as Google, Alibaba, Facebook, SAP).
• Establish and nurture strategic relationships with senior executives of client companies to build trust and collaboration.
• Gain comprehensive insight into clients’ diverse needs and operations to craft and execute cohesive client engagement approaches.
• Lead and deliver projects and initiatives linked to these company portfolios.
• Identify, negotiate, and structure project opportunities that yield mutually beneficial outcomes for the clients and Singapore.
• Partner closely with internal DISG teams and other government agencies to facilitate project development, negotiations, and seamless management throughout the full account management lifecycle.
• Lead or participate in research and analyses on emerging tech sectors such as AI, cybersecurity, talent development, and infrastructure.
• Design strategies and create value propositions to promote Singapore's digital economy.
• Collaborate in policy and product/service development by providing relevant inputs to teams across DISG and government, influencing incentive and trade policy formulation.
• Work alongside stakeholders including companies, educational institutions, and government entities to co-develop solutions that foster collaborations within the digital ecosystem.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Possess 6 to 8 years of pertinent experience, ideally combining backgrounds in the technology sector, account management, business development, strategy formulation, and preferably public sector involvement.
• Demonstrate strong enthusiasm for the digital industry, with a proactive desire to stay abreast of technological trends impacting the sector.
• Exhibit robust conceptual thinking and analytical capabilities.
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in stakeholder engagement.
• Be self-driven, demonstrate a positive mindset, uphold high work ethics, and display effective teamwork.
• Must be a Singaporean citizen.
