About the Role
The Corporate Reporting Services (CRS) team operates within the Assurance practice, offering specialized expertise to engagement teams on the application and interpretation of corporate reporting standards. The team's focus includes IFRS Accounting Standards, Irish and UK GAAP, as well as sustainability reporting standards such as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. These frameworks address a broader scope than traditional financial reporting, reflecting a growing global priority on ESG disclosures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to assurance (audit and non-audit) teams on intricate sustainability reporting issues, particularly relating to the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, ESRS, and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
- Evaluate consistency between the financial statements and other corporate reporting by clients.
- Monitor and interpret developments and requirements from Irish, European, and international regulatory bodies related to corporate reporting.
- Engage in global CRS network activities including calls, meetings, and interactions with senior global team members for consultation and technical discussions.
- Contribute to the creation of internal practice guides, technical papers, and responses to consultations on financial and sustainability reporting.
- Develop and deliver training programs on financial and sustainability reporting for both internal staff and external audiences.
- Conduct pre-issuance technical reviews of sustainability reports for major clients.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in audit, technical accounting, or comparable fields.
- Possession of a relevant professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, AIA, or equivalent.
- Experience with European Sustainability Reporting Standards and/or IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards will be advantageous.
- Technical expertise or hands-on experience with sustainability reporting frameworks is a plus.
- Strong analytical capability to comprehend complex transactions and business dynamics.
- Proven ability to devise solutions grounded in thorough fact-finding and research within commercially viable contexts.
- Self-driven, adaptable, assertive, proactive, and eager for continuous learning.
- Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to foster trust and collaboration within teams.
