Senior Manager - Compliance & Regulatory (Qatari Nationals Only)

About the Role

Qatar Airways is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the establishment, execution, and ongoing refinement of the Group’s compliance framework. This pivotal leadership position entails overseeing Group-wide compliance activities to ensure full alignment with relevant compliance laws, regulations, and internal policies. Key areas covered include Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions & Export Control, Third Party Due Diligence, Ethics, Consumer Rights, Competition, and Governance.

The role demands proactive anticipation of new regulatory risks, strategic advisement to senior executives, and ensuring coordinated, effective compliance operations in line with the company's risk appetite. Leading investigations, managing compliance audits, and guiding the organization in reducing legal and regulatory risks are essential responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the Group-wide compliance program ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, standards, and internal policies.
• Lead the development and maintenance of compliance frameworks, governance mechanisms, and risk management initiatives.
• Identify emerging regulatory and compliance risks and design strategic mitigation plans.
• Develop, revise, and maintain compliance policies, standards, procedures, and advisory materials.
• Offer expert legal and regulatory compliance advice to ensure business practices align with best practices.
• Embed strong compliance protocols into business operations, contracts, and decision-making processes.
• Supervise internal investigations related to misconduct, regulatory breaches, and third-party concerns.
• Engage with external regulatory agencies and government authorities as needed.
• Oversee compliance audits, analyze findings, and lead remediation efforts.
• Prepare and present detailed compliance reports to senior leadership, the Board, and executive management.
• Develop and lead compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organization.
• Foster a corporate culture rooted in ethics, integrity, and accountability.
• Coordinate with various governance functions such as Legal, IT, HR, Facilities, Security, and Risk Management to ensure seamless compliance operations.
• Support the management of third-party compliance risks including due diligence, sanctions, export controls, AML, and ABC compliance requirements.
• Lead and mentor a team of compliance professionals to deliver high performance, growth, and service excellence.
• Set department goals, monitor outcomes, and pursue continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
• At least 10 years of experience relevant to compliance positions.
• Proven track record managing compliance in large multinational or government-affiliated organizations.
• Extensive experience leading teams and managing intricate compliance frameworks and programs.

Technical Expertise

• Deep understanding of Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC).
• Expertise in Third-Party Due Diligence processes.
• Strong knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or Sanctions & Export Controls.
• Experience with Compliance Risk Management, policy and standards development.
• Capability in regulatory relations, compliance advisory, and leading audits and investigations.
