The position for Senior Manager, Clinical Operations Site Management (Franchise Lead) is located in Germany. This leadership role focuses on providing strategic and operational guidance across clinical programs within a specialized therapeutic franchise. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, steer project execution, and promote excellence in clinical study operations, thereby driving meaningful scientific progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead therapeutic and operational aspects throughout the clinical program and project delivery phases to ensure successful completion of assigned studies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to craft effective delivery plans, overcome operational obstacles, and maximize project success.
  • Guarantee that clinical projects under the franchise are adequately staffed and aligned with project objectives.
  • Act as a principal contact for project management franchise leadership to facilitate communication and alignment of strategic goals.
  • Support business development activities by contributing clinical operations expertise in proposal defenses and client meetings.
  • Ensure clinical teams receive comprehensive training on protocols, SOPs, quality standards, and monitoring procedures.
  • Work jointly with quality assurance teams to identify training needs and foster continuous improvements based on quality results and corrective measures.
  • Coordinate efforts among project management, site management, and start-up teams to ensure smooth study launch and execution.
  • Maintain regular operational reviews focusing on quality indicators, site performance, data integrity, project status, resource management, and contractual obligations.
  • Provide leadership to direct reports through performance management, evaluations, and career development support.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in biological, physical, health sciences, pharmacy, or related fields.
  • Have at least 8 years of clinical research experience as a Clinical Research Associate or similar role; alternatively, 10+ years with corresponding education and training.
  • Bring 2+ years of experience managing or leading teams within clinical operations.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of clinical trial processes, drug development cycles, and the biopharmaceutical landscape.
  • Experience managing or supporting Central Nervous System (CNS) clinical trials is essential.
  • Show broad understanding of clinical protocols, therapeutic areas, study operations, and international regulatory frameworks.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking, strong problem-solving abilities, and sound decision-making in complex operational environments.
  • Excellent planning, organization, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across global and multidisciplinary teams, influencing outcomes across varied functions.
  • An innovative approach with a focus on process improvement and operational excellence.
