About the Role
Kraft Heinz is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join their Quality team in Hastings, New Zealand. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory and provide support to the Laboratory Manager in their absence.
- Maintain laboratory quality standards, including ISO 17025 and RLP criteria, while managing complex and urgent laboratory issues.
- Assist with the training and supervision of other Lab Technicians.
- Monitor equipment calibrations, identify and source alternative equipment when necessary, and ensure the high quality of laboratory results.
- Verify that all laboratory equipment, reagents, and media are calibrated and validated according to the HW Laboratory manual.
About You
- Possess a tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Have significant and proven experience working in a laboratory environment within the manufacturing sector.
- Experience in people leadership is advantageous, though not essential.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) databases is highly desirable.
- Exhibit excellent people leadership capabilities, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
