About the Role

Our client, one of the largest financial institutions in Ireland, seeks a Senior IT Director specializing in payments technology. This leadership role demands full ownership of the payments technology strategy, delivery programs, team management, and budgeting within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a substantial payments technology team to deliver innovative payment solutions.
• Own and manage the payments technology roadmap and overall budget.
• Oversee payment platform delivery programs, collaborating closely with tech leads and vendors.
• Drive vendor relationship management and manage risks related to resilience and compliance.
• Implement and promote an Agile operating model, specifically leveraging Tribe and Squad structures, ensuring accountability and business result alignment.
• Engage regularly with executive leadership, providing weekly status updates and strategic communications.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience building and leading high-performance technology teams rather than merely managing them.
• In-depth understanding of embedding new technology operating models, particularly Agile transformations including squads, tribes, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong expertise in payments domain knowledge, enabling credible engagement with engineers, architects, and regulators alike.
