Job description

About The Role

Join Canva’s Vibe team as a Senior Internal Events Producer and Operations lead, based full-time onsite in Sydney with some work-from-home flexibility. This dual-focused role balances managing program production and team operations, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality Canva experience across major company events and everyday activations. You will lead flagship internal events, overseeing timelines, agency partnerships, and onsite execution with full ownership and a hands-on approach.

Additionally, you'll oversee agency collaborations ensuring all outputs meet Canva's standards, while aligning regional teams worldwide to deliver consistent yet locally tailored experiences. Operationally, you'll establish and maintain systems and processes to streamline workflows, track budgets, and build scalable frameworks, acting as both a production director and operational chief of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end production for key internal events including Season Openers, Company Goal Celebrations, Droptober, and other tier-one programs.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, vendors, and external partners by setting briefs, monitoring quality, and ensuring brand-aligned delivery.
  • Oversee all production elements such as schedules, budgets, teams, and on-site decisions to ensure smooth event execution and problem resolution.
  • Add creative input to shape unique event experiences beyond logistical coordination.
  • Develop and maintain operational systems such as briefing processes, templates, approval workflows, and vendor contracts to foster consistency and scalability.
  • Maintain consolidated budget oversight including spend tracking, forecasting, and financial reconciliation across all programs.
  • Create and update knowledge bases, playbooks, and documentation to preserve team expertise and facilitate transitions.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational challenges within the events team, reporting to the Global Internal Events Lead.
  • Collaborate with global Vibe leads to ensure local teams are well-informed, equipped, and actively contributing to program success.
  • Work alongside Internal Communications, Marketing, Brand, Operations, and Finance teams to align cross-functional partners and communicate program status clearly.
  • Build frameworks that allow global event delivery to maintain authenticity while preserving a unified Canva identity.
  • Represent the events team in cross-departmental planning, providing production and operational insights to influence decision-making.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale experiential productions, including keynotes, hospitality, travel, and brand activations.
  • Strong operational acumen with a proactive approach to building systems and converting complexity into clarity.
  • Financial literacy with confidence managing significant budgets, negotiating efficiencies, and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • A creative perspective with the ability to provide thoughtful input on event design and experience.
  • A global mindset with knowledge of tailoring programs to diverse regional markets and managing frameworks supporting such diversity.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, building trust across diverse groups and communicating value effectively.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Background as a Director of Production, Company Manager, Tour Manager, or similar role with comprehensive live-event production responsibility.
  • Experience partnering operatively with senior leadership in Chief of Staff or equivalent roles.
  • Exposure to brand or agency experiential work, understanding client versus in-house production dynamics.
  • Proven ability to foster positive team culture and energize colleagues, recognizing the impact of internal dynamics on event success.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI tools for operational tasks like administration automation, asset tracking, feedback synthesis, and workflow optimization.

Benefits and Culture

  • Equity participation sharing in the company’s success.
  • An inclusive parental leave policy supporting diverse families.
  • Annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to enhance wellbeing, social connections, and workspace setup.
  • Flexible leave policies promoting personal recharge and social contributions.
