Role overview
This full-time, permanent position in Leipzig/Halle is for an experienced internal audit professional who will help strengthen the group’s audit function, support risk-based audit planning, and contribute to process improvement, governance, and control enhancements across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Support the further development of the group audit function by maintaining and implementing the audit strategy on an ongoing basis.
- Plan, perform, and lead internal audits across all business areas, including processes, compliance, governance, organization, and IT.
- Contribute to annual audit planning using company-wide risk assessments.
- Review and assess business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Advance the internal control system and risk management framework.
- Prepare audit reports and provide practical recommendations for management and executive leadership.
- Advise departments on process improvements and governance-related topics.
- Support change and development projects from an audit perspective.
- Track agreed corrective actions and help ensure they are implemented.
Candidate profile
- A completed degree in business administration, business informatics, business law, finance, or a similar field.
- Several years of professional experience in internal audit, external audit, or governance, risk & compliance.
- Knowledge of relevant audit standards and regulatory requirements, such as IIA and IDW.
- Strong understanding of business and commercial processes.
- An analytical, structured, and solution-focused way of working.
- Confident communication skills and a professional presence when dealing with executives and senior management.
- Very good German and English language skills.
