Role overview
An opportunity is open in Jubail for a Senior Instrument Technician. The position focuses on supporting instrumentation work across construction, commissioning, and plant maintenance, with a strong emphasis on safe, accurate, and dependable operation of instrumentation assets in line with company procedures and standards.
What you will do
- Carry out installation, calibration, testing, and fault-finding for instrumentation systems.
- Review, understand, and update technical documentation such as P&IDs, loop drawings, specification sheets, and hook-up drawings.
- Service, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instruments, including pressure, flow, level, and temperature transmitters, as well as control valves.
- Identify and resolve issues in control systems, including PLC-based systems and machine monitoring setups such as Bentley Nevada.
- Maintain instrumentation equipment like control valves, gauges, and analyzers.
- Follow permit-to-work requirements, safety rules, and organizational policies at all times.
- Use instrumentation tools, fittings, and test equipment correctly and keep them in good working order.
- Work closely with colleagues and other teams to support maintenance and project tasks efficiently.
Requirements
- Diploma in Instrumentation or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 10 years of experience as an instrumentation technician in petrochemical or oil and gas environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of instrumentation and control-system troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Good grasp of control logic concepts such as open loop, closed loop, and safety overrides.
- High awareness of safety, quality, and compliance expectations.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Capacity to work under pressure and deliver consistently high-quality results.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
