Job description
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Senior Indirect Taxation Manager will be responsible for overseeing GST compliance and management, ensuring timely filing of all GST-related returns, and handling assessments and litigation matters. This includes expert management of tax reconciliations and ensuring all statutory indirect tax requirements are met efficiently.
GST Compliance
- Prepare, verify, and file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B returns on schedule.
- Prepare and file the Annual Return (GSTR-9) and the Reconciliation Statement (GSTR-9C).
- Carry out detailed turnover reconciliations between the Books of Accounts and GSTR-1, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, and between GSTR-9 and Books of Accounts.
- Conduct regular reconciliation of GSTR-2B with purchase records and coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure all GST compliance and filing deadlines are consistently met.
GST Assessment and Litigation
- Draft responses to various GST notices including ASMT-10 and other departmental communications.
- Manage GST audits, investigations, and issues relating to the Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence (DGGI).
- Collaborate with GST consultants to prepare submissions and legal documents.
- Interact and coordinate with GST officials for document submissions, hearings, and other compliance-related activities.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Possess sound knowledge of Professional Tax (PT) payments and filing PT returns.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable statutory obligations concerning indirect taxes.
Systems and Technical Skills
- Proficient in SAP and GST compliance software applications.
- Excellent command over MS Excel and financial reporting tools.

- Strong analytical and reconciliation abilities.
- Capable of independently handling GST assessments, audits, and official department correspondence.
- Effective communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage workloads under strict timelines and maintain statutory compliance.
