The job centers on coordinating import and export movements across multiple transport modes while keeping shipments moving efficiently, controlling expenses, and reducing supply chain exposure. The role also contributes to broader logistics strategy, operational improvements, and process reliability.
The selected candidate will act as a go-to expert for international transportation practices, regulations, and industry developments, while working closely with both internal teams and outside logistics providers.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee international import and export activity across ocean, air, and surface freight networks.
- Partner with internal groups such as transportation, supply planning, demand planning, and warehousing, along with external logistics vendors.
- Track shipments, troubleshoot delays or disruptions, and keep stakeholders informed so deliveries stay on schedule.
- Maintain strong working relationships with carriers, drayage providers, ocean lines, and third-party logistics partners.
- Review vendor performance using established measures and support ongoing improvement efforts.
- Contribute to sourcing activities for international logistics and transportation vendors, including RFP participation.
- Work with global transportation teams on container forecasting, carrier selection, and allocation planning.
- Handle claims tied to international shipping damage and help drive resolution.
- Serve as an internal resource on import/export procedures, regulatory considerations, and market or industry changes.
- Evaluate routing choices, port-related costs, and operational obstacles to find better, more cost-effective solutions.
- Lead projects aimed at strengthening logistics processes, execution quality, and operational efficiency.
- Create and roll out procedures that improve the dependability and effectiveness of logistics operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is a highly organized, analytical logistics professional with deep experience in global supply chain operations and the ability to manage complicated workflows across stakeholders and vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in international logistics, including exposure to port terminals, drayage carriers, and ocean shipping lines.
- Solid understanding of import/export workflows, transportation operations, and global logistics practices.
- Background in managing vendor, carrier, and external service provider relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, encourage collaboration, and implement operational enhancements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Advanced command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues independently and build practical solutions.
- Comfort handling multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Good grasp of supply chain cost drivers, risk reduction, and process optimization.
- Ability to work standard business hours from a home office while remaining fully remote in the United States.
Compensation and Benefits
- Expected annual salary range of approximately $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
- Remote work arrangement from a home office anywhere within the United States.
- Performance-based incentive opportunity.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company-matching contributions.
- Healthcare coverage and a broad benefits package supporting physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
- Opportunities for career development and professional growth.
- Chance to work with global teams on meaningful supply chain initiatives.
- Inclusive culture that emphasizes innovation, teamwork, and employee development.
