Senior IBM MQ Administration

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced IBM MQ specialist to join the architecture function and support the modernization of the message queuing platform. The role centers on evaluating the current setup, shaping the upgrade approach, and helping move the environment to IBM MQ version 9.4. This position is based in Chennai, with opportunities for candidates in Bangalore, Pune, and Mumbai.

Experience and Notice Period

The role calls for more than 7 years of relevant experience. Candidates should be available to join immediately or within 30 days.

Key Work Areas

• Examine design documents and provide technical review inputs.
• Upgrade IBM MQ infrastructure to version 9.4.
• Move queue manager settings such as queues, channels, and listeners to the newer environment.
• Rework both standalone and multi-instance queue manager setups.
• Check that shared storage is correctly prepared for multi-instance deployments.
• Support production cutover activities while keeping business disruption to a minimum.
• Assist the CNA Architect with ARM deck preparation and presentations.
• Carry out IBM MQ administration tasks across v7.x, v8.x, and v9.x platforms.
• Create, back up, restore, and recover queue managers as needed.
• Configure and support multi-instance queue managers.
• Contribute to pilot testing and document the learning from those tests.
• Work with a high degree of independence.
• Coordinate effectively with stakeholders and communicate clearly.
• Handle deployment risk and ensure controlled changes during production updates.
