Job description
Role Summary
An established International College located in the City of London is seeking a Senior HR Advisor for a fixed-term 6-month contract. The position is based in London Bridge with a hybrid work arrangement allowing two days in the office and three days remote. The successful candidate will deliver expert HR guidance, partner closely with managers to implement effective people solutions, ensure adherence to legal frameworks, and assist in driving organizational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional advice to management on complex employee relations issues such as absence, performance challenges, conduct, capability, redundancy, and grievance procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, emerging case law, and best human resource management practices.
- Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to comply with legal requirements and safeguarding guidelines.
- Design and deliver HR training, webinars, and written instructions to managers on essential processes.
- Encourage timely completion of performance and development reviews, offering coaching and feedback on standards.
- Assist with company-wide employee engagement programs, including coordination of the annual Employee Engagement Survey.
- Contribute innovative ideas for continuous improvement within the HR department.
- Guide and support management during organizational restructuring and change initiatives to reduce disruption and improve employee acceptance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as an HR Advisor in medium to large enterprises (500+ employees).
- Proven expertise handling complex HR casework.
- Background in the education sector preferred but candidates from other industries considered.
- Strong judgment supported by comprehensive knowledge and practical application of employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capable of forming and sustaining effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
