About Rippling

Rippling provides businesses with a single platform to manage HR, IT, and Finance. It unifies core workforce systems that are usually spread across different tools, including payroll, expenses, benefits, and devices, so companies can automate the full employee journey in one place.

For instance, with Rippling a company can onboard a new hire anywhere in the world and have payroll, a corporate card, a computer, benefits, and connected apps such as Slack and Microsoft 365 set up in about 90 seconds. Headquartered in San Francisco, Rippling has raised $1.85 from leading investors including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock, and Forbes recognised it as one of America’s best startup employers.

Please note that Rippling shares official hiring communication only from @Rippling.com email addresses.

About the Role

This opening is for an experienced payroll professional to join Rippling’s Global Payroll Operations team. The team supports the company’s international payroll products, which are built natively and integrated across Rippling’s wider platform. As the business expands globally, there is a growing need for stronger global payroll operations and local payroll expertise.

As Senior Global Payroll Operations Specialist, you will own operational work across the APAC region. That includes handling tax and statutory payment matters for customers, liaising with government bodies, and partnering with internal R&D teams and external providers. You will also contribute country-level payroll knowledge that helps shape Rippling’s payroll software and supports growth into new markets and customer segments. The role involves substantial collaboration across teams and has a direct effect on both product quality and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support monthly payroll tax filings and related payments across APAC.
  • Handle statutory submissions such as Foreign Worker Levy, NS claims, and government-paid leave cases including maternity, shared parental, and military leave.
  • Make sure Singapore payroll complies with employment laws by calculating and submitting CPF contributions accurately and on time.
  • Serve as the go-to specialist for annual income tax submissions through the Auto Inclusion Scheme, as well as IR21 filings for employees exiting Singapore.
  • Assist with payroll operations in New Zealand, including payday filings and STP reporting, and in Australia, including superannuation.
  • Review payroll records, deductions, and tax withholdings regularly across APAC countries.
  • Resolve issues and manage communication with authorities such as IRAS, ATO, and IRD.
  • Work directly with customers to identify and solve payroll-related problems.
  • Partner with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to ensure compliance requirements are supported in the software.
  • Help fix product issues such as calculation mistakes and file-generation problems.
  • Prioritise and implement internal tooling needs and automation opportunities.
  • Maintain, document, and communicate operating procedures and policies.
  • Contribute to APAC payroll strategy by improving efficiency, consistency, accuracy, and scalability as the business grows.

Requirements

  • Strong experience handling payroll across APAC, with deep knowledge of payroll and tax compliance in Singapore; exposure to Australia and New Zealand payroll is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with tax matters and tax notice resolution involving ATO, IRD, and IRAS.
  • Good understanding of APAC HR and payroll laws and policies.
  • At least 4 years of Singapore payroll operations experience and at least 3 years in a client-facing role.
  • Ability to work through and resolve customer support ticket queues.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail, time management, and execution.
  • Comfort using Google Workspace or Microsoft Office for analysis and task tracking; knowledge of Salesforce, JIRA, and Confluence is a plus.
  • Willingness to overlap with U.S. working hours, preferably Eastern and Pacific time zones.
