Opportunity Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial planning and analysis functions, including forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, performance review, and reporting, aiding decision-making throughout the organization. This position is intended for prospective roles and does not represent a current vacancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models related to operations, forecasts, and the evaluation of investments under different capital structures.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, analyzing differences between budgets and actual financial results.
  • Conduct impact analyses of revenue, expenses, and underlying assumptions on projected financial performance.
  • Create and validate models to assess key performance indicators such as cash flow, IRR, ROIC, MOIC, and NPV.
  • Prepare insightful financial commentary and analysis of budget variances and trends on various cycles and ad-hoc basis.
  • Support valuation and performance review tasks, coordinating inputs and critically reviewing internal and external assumptions.
  • Contribute to comprehensive budgeting and forecasting processes and produce materials for management and stakeholder briefing.
  • Design and sustain cash flow forecasting models reflecting a thorough understanding of cash dynamics.
  • Collaborate closely with business units to understand assumptions, risks, and opportunities influencing forecasts and outcomes.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to financial processes, modeling, and analytics.
  • Conduct scenario analyses and "what-if" financial modeling to aid strategic and operational decisions.
  • Develop strong partnerships across departments and uphold Finance's role as an engaged business partner.
  • Efficiently manage multiple priority deliverables meeting tight deadlines with precision.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related technical field.
  • CPA certification coupled with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in asset management, corporate or investment finance, or institutional finance is preferred.
  • Proven expertise in creating and analyzing comprehensive financial models.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and ability to produce professional presentations using PowerPoint.
  • Strong comprehension of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Curious mindset with eagerness to grasp critical financial drivers and metrics.
  • Continuous improvement orientation toward financial modeling and planning.
  • Customer-centric approach with excellent relationship management and collaborative skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to juggle multiple assignments ensuring prompt and accurate delivery in pressured environments.
  • Upholds highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Experience using financial systems, ERP or planning tools, with industry-specific platforms considered an advantage.

Additional Information

Location is Oakville, Ontario, with a hybrid work model requiring three days at the office.
