About Rodan Energy Solutions

Rodan Energy is a prominent North American energy service provider with over two decades of expertise. The company focuses on innovative solutions that reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions, support electrification, and improve grid efficiency for major energy users, power producers, and utilities.

Why Work Here

  • Be part of a growing energy services company driven by innovation and sustainability at the forefront of grid modernization.
  • Engage in impactful analytical projects influencing key business decisions including pricing, investments, and growth strategies.
  • Collaborate with top finance and business leaders in a culture endorsing ownership, curiosity, and solution-driven teamwork.

Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst role within FP&A is pivotal, reporting to the FP&A Manager and interfacing with senior management such as the CFO and Finance Director. The focus lies in proactively building financial models and frameworks that inform strategic decisions rather than routine reporting. This role supports ongoing foundational development of financial systems, models, and processes, offering an opportunity to shape the FP&A function as it evolves.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop multi-scenario financial models (including base, upside, downside, stress tests) providing clear trade-off analysis to guide planning and risk decisions.
  • Create unit economics models breaking down revenue and costs per customer, site, MW, or hour to identify profitability drivers and constraints.
  • Conduct detailed profitability assessments by business line, customer, and project.
  • Analyze labor costs and maintain standard labor rate structures.
  • Build ROI models for strategic initiatives and assist in pricing and contract structuring decisions.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to manage deal models, assess opportunities, facilitate pricing decisions, and ensure compliance with deal governance.
  • Contribute to M&A activities including acquisition evaluation, due diligence, and integration planning.
  • Prepare actionable analyses with clearly communicated assumptions and recommended courses of action.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison bridging finance and other business units, translating financial and operational data effectively for diverse stakeholders.
  • Own FP&A tools and processes including data pipelines, dashboards, automation workflows, and documentation to ensure usability and continuous improvement.
  • Support regular reporting and forecasting cycles, analyze variances, and maintain consistency across all business lines.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or related analytical roles.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel and capable of developing complex models from scratch with clarity for stakeholders.
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis tools such as Power Query, Power BI, or equivalents, handling multiple data sources.
  • Strong ownership mindset with experience in building processes in less mature environments.
  • Ability to synthesize financial data into insights accessible to non-finance audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in energy, infrastructure, or operationally complex industries.
  • Familiarity with acquisition analysis, due diligence, and transaction modeling.
  • Exposure to systems such as QuickBooks, HubSpot, Journyx, or similar platforms.
  • Professional credentials like CPA, CFA, or an MBA (completed or in progress).

Personal Attributes

  • Passion for developing and refining a high-functioning FP&A team.
  • Analytical mindset comfortable with complex and incomplete data, creating order and structure.
  • Excellent financial modeling skills with clear communication to diverse stakeholders.
  • Inquisitive nature with a drive to uncover underlying business drivers.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and providing clarity on open-ended issues.
  • Committed to gaining deep expertise and serving as a key resource in FP&A.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-related bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness plans.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer matching.

Hiring Process Additional Information

  • Applicants may be subject to background checks including criminal and credential verification.
  • Shortlisted candidates might need to complete assignments demonstrating strategic thinking and problem-solving relevant to the role.
