Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst - Corporate Accounting reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager and is a pivotal contributor to financial reporting and analysis. Responsibilities encompass managing key month-end procedures, supporting quarterly and annual reporting, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Close (40%): Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures; oversee month-end close activities; analyze complex accounting transactions ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Budgeting & Forecasting (15%): Assist in developing the annual budget and board presentation materials; support financial planning and forecasting processes.
- Financial Analysis (15%): Conduct variance analyses and deliver insights on financial performance; provide ad hoc financial analyses to aid management decisions.
- Process Improvement & Projects (20%): Engage in special projects such as financing initiatives, system implementations, and automation; identify and implement efficiency-enhancing process improvements.
- Internal Controls & SOX Compliance (20%): Support internal control design, implementation, and testing; coordinate with external auditors and related firms for SOX compliance.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital (10%): Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor liquidity.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- CPA certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, including 2 to 3 years in corporate accounting or finance roles.
- Experience at a Big Four or national accounting firm is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP; knowledge of US and Canadian securities regulations is beneficial.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Jet Reports is a plus.
- Exposure to automation tools and AI technologies is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Additional Information
This position is located in New York City and offers a salary range between $75,000 and $145,000 USD. Candidates whose current experience does not fully align are encouraged to apply to be considered for future opportunities within the company.
