Role Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst, Budget will provide high-quality financial analysis, support project-related work, and deliver accurate and timely reporting for OMA departments to help leaders make informed decisions. The role also involves using AI-enabled tools to sharpen insights and improve efficiency, along with building automated, reliable financial reports through Jet Reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with annual budgeting and recurring forecasting for assigned departments by carrying out detailed cost reviews and financial analysis.
- Review actual financial performance and provide clear explanations of significant differences versus budget, forecast, and prior-year figures.
- Prepare financial reports, presentation materials, and reporting packages for OMA and its subsidiaries, including building interactive reports in Jet Reports.
- Complete account analysis and reconciliations on a timely basis, and prepare supporting schedules and documentation for the financial statements.
- Support internal and external audits by assembling working papers and backup documents needed for year-end audit activities.
- Contribute to process-improvement initiatives that strengthen accounting workflows, while applying AI-based solutions and modern reporting tools to improve analysis, speed, and data quality.
Requirements
- A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related field.
- CPA designation in Canada.
- Six to nine years of progressive experience in accounting and financial analysis, with the ability to handle and present complex analysis.
- Hands-on experience with finance and reporting platforms such as Business Central, Jet Reports, Prophix, and Concur.
- Strong command of Excel and practical experience with budgeting and reporting tools used for analysis and decision support.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving ability, along with a solid understanding of accounting standards and practices, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Work Model
This is a permanent hybrid position. The successful candidate will be required to work in the Toronto office for a minimum number of days each week.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $92,835 to $98,640, along with a pension plan and a bonus program. The benefits package also includes an employee spending account and a comprehensive wellness program.
