Senior Financial Accountant

Role Overview

The Senior Financial Accountant position is a part-time engagement based in Abu Dhabi, designed to support the Center's financial accounting and reporting functions aligned with its research and operational goals. This role integrates both on-site presence and remote work flexibility for select tasks.

Key Duties

• Prepare and critically review financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage general ledger entries and oversee budget monitoring and expenditure tracking.
• Ensure adherence to applicable financial regulations and organizational policies.
• Generate timely and comprehensive financial reports to assist leadership in strategic planning and decision-making.
• Support the auditing process and optimize the use of accounting software systems.
• Collaborate with administrative and research departments to maintain precise financial records and improve accounting processes.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proven expertise in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements within a professional environment.
• Advanced analytical capabilities applied to budgeting, forecasting, variance evaluations, and financial risk analyses.
• Proficiency with finance and accounting software tools commonly employed in financial reporting.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines; professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, or CMA are beneficial.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting standards and compliance protocols, ensuring meticulous financial documentation.
• Capability to work efficiently in a hybrid work arrangement, responsibly managing part-time hours, and coordinating cross-functionally.
• Strong command of English communication, both written and verbal; experience in financial reporting for research or non-profit sectors is advantageous.
